Education & Prevention

In every country of operation, CURE works to ensure that every child with a treatable disability can reach their full potential through God’s hope and healing.

CURE partners with local governments, healthcare systems, schools, and churches to help them better serve and minister to children with disabilities in their communities.

CURE offers training and capacity-building to equip local healthcare systems and churches to sustainably provide the care and support children with disabilities need. CURE Kenya also partners with schools for disability advocacy and to teach young students to adopt correct ideals in society and with their peers. These efforts help counter prejudicial attitudes and behaviors in society and the church, and they help make healthcare more accessible to some of the most vulnerable in society.

What are the outcomes of successful education and prevention?

Children experience transformation as their treatable disabilities are prevented from becoming permanent conditions due to a lack of education.

Communities become more inclusive, equitable, and understanding of the rights of people with disabilities as image bearers of God when the gospel is shared.

Patients are identified and referred for treatment.

Local healthcare systems and churches are strengthened and equipped to support children with disabilities.
