POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Registered Nurse is a member of the nursing team and provides total individualized and comprehensive nursing care to patients according to nursing and doctor’s plans.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

CURE International is a global nonprofit network of children’s hospitals that provide surgical care in a compassionate, gospel-centered environment. Services are provided at no cost to families because of the generosity of donors and partners around the world.
The International Accounting Manager provides support and oversight to CURE’s hospitals in Africa ensuring consistency and compliance with CURE’s mission, core values and operating guidelines. This position maintains a special focus on providing accounting support, financial integrity and record keeping by supporting the hospitals in budget preparation, compliance, and reporting. The International Accounting Manager is also responsible for internal audit and review functions for the hospitals and assists in policy and standards creation and implementation.
The work location for this position can be remote work from a location on the continent of Africa or hospital based from a CURE Hospital location if one is located in your home country. Relocation is not offered for this position. All CURE required travel expenses will be covered by the organization.
Frequency of travel will be up to 40%. Travel will be required to provide support to hospital accounting teams, with an average of 4-5 country visits every 6 months.
Ideal candidates will be located on continent in Africa with easy access to airports for business travel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Financial Review and Documentation:
- Provide accounting support to Hospital Controllers.
- Review hospitals’ financial transactions and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness in Odoo.
- Implement and monitor fraud detection measures to safeguard financial integrity.
- Cash Advances and Accounts Receivable Monitoring:
- Oversee cash advances to ensure timely liquidation.
- Monitor accounts receivables to ensure timely debt collection.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Anesthesiologist is responsible for providing anesthesia for the patients requiring surgical intervention in the hospital. In this capacity, the anesthesiologist will also need to oversee the nurse anesthetists or anesthetic officers. The role of the anesthesiologist will also include oversight of the HDU/ICU and any critically ill patient on the ward. The anesthesiologist will review all codes in the hospital and oversee the debrief. Sub speciality expertise in pediatric anesthesia is preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Complete and document preoperative anesthesia evaluations of patients and order necessary lab work/consultation or any other preoperative investigations at least the day prior to surgery.
- Review preoperative patient charts for pertinent lab work, history and physical examination, vital signs chart, fluid status and medication sheet.
- Choose the safest and most appropriate anesthetic for the patient: general, regional, MAC, local or combination and utilize the correct monitors for that anesthetic for the duration of the surgery. Manage the patient airway adequately utilizing the mask, bag-valve mask, intubation, LMA, and other emergency airway procedures.
- Accurately manage fluid resuscitation in the patient and measure blood loss regularly.
- Oversee the safe functioning of the anesthesia machine, oxygen supply, suction, and all equipment necessary to provide anesthesia in close consultation with the biomedical team.
- Perform various regional anesthesia techniques as required.
- Assess and implement pain management in the post operative recovery period.
- Identify and treat intra operative & post operative anesthesia complications as soon as they occur..
- Accurately and thoroughly chart patient physiological data, medications & fluids administered contemporaneously pre, intra, and post operatively.
- Set up all necessary monitors and drugs, and check the anesthesia machine and oxygen supply prior to each anesthetic.
- Read and comply with all network anesthesia guidelines and SOPs.
- Seek opportunities to teach staff both clinically and didactically with regards to advanced life support, anesthesia, & pain management.
- Protect the patient from harm utilizing proper positioning techniques and act as an advocate for the patient’s welfare.
- Maintain competency of anesthesia practice in accordance with professional standards established by the profession.
- Participate in resuscitation of patients when required.
- Oversee the maintenance of an accurate narcotic count and supply in the operating room and post-anesthesia care unit.
- Oversee work of the Anesthesia Technicians/nurses/officers or other assigned employees.
- Ensure adequate restocking of anesthesia supplies by supervising the Anesthesia Technicians or other assigned employees.
- Report to the Medical Director at any time when it appears to be unsafe to use the operating rooms (e.g. lack of oxygen).
- Act as an anesthesia consultant to anesthesia providers and medical/surgical staff.

- Assess patients with musculoskeletal disability, taking and recording a salient history, examination and formulating an appropriate management plan including relevant investigations and surgical or non-operative management.
- Participate in traveling to mobile clinics in different parts of the country as organized by the hospital and assigned to by the head of orthopedics.
- Treat patients and families with care and respect, adhering to the highest standards of medical ethics.
- When surgical management is appropriate, undertaking careful consent, clarifying to the patient (where appropriate) and family member the nature of the procedure that is advised, the risks, possible alternatives and nature of anesthesia required.
- Create pre-operative plans for each surgery, discussing with fellow faculty members the surgical plans.
- Provide a high standard of surgical care, adhering to the highest standards of sterile operative technique while creating a cohesive team environment centered on safety and quality care.
- Record each step of patient care in the Electronic Medical Record and inpatient paper charts.
- Recognize complications that arise and respond appropriately, including discussing the event with the Medical Director and reporting it in the quarterly Morbidity and Mortality meetings.
- Ensure a high level of patient and staff safety is upheld at all times.
